Jordan Montgomery has exercised his $22.5 player option with the Diamondbacks, according to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com on Oct. 31.
Montgomery, 31, signed with the Diamondbacks two days before last year’s Opening Day on a one-year deal worth $25 million that included the option. He was one of agent Scott Boras’ marquee clients who misread the market and took lesser deals than anticipated. His season was a disaster.
